What I do...
I take what I do very seriously. It`s an art to me. I put my heart and soul into my work and I want to deliver the absolute best for my clients. That's what I do.
HTML5
Before HTML5, (X)HTML was all the rage. It was good. The idea was to produce a standardised best practice for HTML 4. Things have changed with time and HTML5 is the future of the web. It`s early days yet, but it is time to embrace the future and use it to our advantage. I believe in progressive enhancement. This website is built with HTML5. The future is now.
CSS3
CSS3 gives us a few more stylist options. Not all browsers can handle these new features but some do. No image slicing which slows the process down. Nice little drop shadows and rounded corners can be implemented in CSS. It's quick and it`s effective.
JQuery
JQuery has been around for a while and is here to stay. I seem to be using it more and more with every project, especially now with the decline of Flash. We as humans just love to see things animate and move as if by magic. JQuery and JavaScript is just such an important aspect of the web these days.
Silverstripe CMS
The Stripestripe CMS is a robust framework for building websites. It's a homegrown product and it has a strong community here in Wellington and around the world. More and more companies are adopting this as there primary CMS. It`s a joy to work with and it`s just great to build sites quickly and efficiently with. For the front-end developer it's is a dream come true with nice tidy organised templates. Can you tell I`m a fan?
